Green Terror Cichlid (Andinoacara rivulatus)

• Appearance: The Green Terror Cichlid is named for its vivid green and turquoise coloration, which is often highlighted by darker spots or streaks. They have a somewhat iridescent sheen, especially when they are in good health. Males are usually larger and more brightly colored compared to females. The fish also has a distinct body shape with a broad head and prominent fins.
• Size: Green Terror Cichlids can grow quite large, reaching sizes of up to 12 to 14 inches (30 to 35 cm) in length.
• Habitat: Native to the rivers and streams of Ecuador and northern Peru, these cichlids inhabit areas with slow-moving or stagnant waters, often with plenty of hiding spots and rocky or sandy substrates.
• Behavior: Green Terror Cichlids are known for their territorial and aggressive nature, especially as they mature. They can be quite dominant and may become aggressive toward other fish, particularly in smaller tanks. It is generally recommended to keep them with other robust, similarly sized species or as a single-species tank.
