• Habitat: In their natural habitat, they are found in the rocky shores of Lake Tanganyika in Africa. They prefer areas with abundant hiding spots, such as crevices and caves, which they use for shelter and breeding.
• Behavior: Golden Aurotos Cichlids are known for their territorial and social behavior. They often form pairs or small groups and can be quite aggressive towards other fish, especially in smaller tanks. They establish and defend their territory aggressively.
• Tank Requirements: They require a well-maintained, alkaline environment with a pH of 8.0-9.0 and a temperature range of 75-85°F (24-29°C). A tank with plenty of rocks and hiding spots is essential to mimic their natural habitat and provide them with security.
