FIRE RED SHRIMP FISH

Fire red shrimp are often kept in aquariums as “cleaner shrimp” because they remove parasites and dead tissue from fish. They’ll set up cleaning stations and wait for fish to approach them by waving their antennae from rock overhangs. Once a fish comes close, the shrimp will clean its fins, gills, and body. Fire red shrimp also scavenge for food along the bottom of the aquarium, eating algae, biofilm, and decaying organic matter. They can be fed freeze-dried, frozen, or live foods, as well as flaked foods and vegetable-based pellets or wafers. To encourage algae and biofilm growth, you can add hardscape elements like lava rock to the aquarium
