Assassin snails can be a good addition to tropical aquariums, where they can help control pest snails. They can live in aquariums with at least 2 gallons of water, temperatures between 70–80°F (21–27°C), and an alkaline pH of 7.2–8.0. They can also be kept with peaceful fish, aquarium plants, dwarf shrimp, and other non-snail invertebrates.
Assassin snails can be fed a variety of meaty foods, including bloodworm, white mosquito larvae, vitamin-enriched brineshrimp and Mysis, and sinking catfish pellets or granules. They can also reproduce in aquariums, though at a slower rate than many other snails. To ensure you have both sexes, you can keep a large group of assassin snails together.
